Heparinase I for Diagnostics
Heparinase I rapidly and specifically neutralizes both unfractionated heparin as well as low molecular weight heparin, allowing baseline hemostasis to be monitored in the presence of these anticoagulants.
As a result, Heparinase I is incorporated into disposables from a number of leading diagnostic companies, and is in development for additional diagnostic uses.

| May be performed several times during CABG surgery to assess heparin reversal, hemodilution and heparin rebound. |
| Hepzyme® |
| Hepzyme® may be added to blood samples to reduce test ambiguity when the presence of heparin or low molecular weight heparin is suspected. |
| Thromboelastography (TEG) |
| May be performed several times during CABG surgery to assess heparin reversal, hemodilution, heparin rebound, platelet function and fibrinolysis. |
| Prothrombin Time (PT) |
| Heparinase is added to PT cartridges to make them heparin insensitive, for monitoring oral anticoagulation therapy. |
| Rotation Thromboelastometry (RT) |
| May be performed several times during CABG surgery to assess heparin reversal, hemodilution and heparin rebound. |
